Peer Review Process

The review process of a manuscript submitted to JOEEL normally takes 1 to 3 months. However, it may take longer depending on the number of manuscripts currently being reviewed. The following are the five main steps of the review process.

  1. The completed manuscript uploaded by the author(s) to the JOEEL website is then assigned by the Editor in Chief to see the editorial process. The editorial process covers checking for the fulfillment of the focus and scope of JOEEL, article component completeness (the appropriateness of the author guidelines including the use of JOEEL article template, at least 15 references, and other mechanic items), and similarity/plagiarism checking (maximum 20% is acceptable).
  2. The section editor will invite reviewers to give a proper assessment and judgment of the submitted manuscript.
  3. The review result will be communicated to the editor for onward transmission to the author(s).
  4. The author(s) will revise the manuscript based on the reviewers’ comments and suggestions and resubmit the manuscript within two to three weeks.
When the manuscript is finally accepted for publication, the editor will schedule the publication and inform the author(s) of the particular number and volume of the journal in which the article will be published.
